Dr Frédéric Lebrun works as cardiologist at Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) and at National Institute of Cardiac Surgery and Interventional Cardiology in Luxembourg (INCCI - Haerz Zenter).
Dr Frédéric Lebrun received his medical degree (MD) and qualification in cardiovascular diseases at the UCL University in Brussels.
He did a dedicated fellowship in echocardiography and valvular heart diseases particulary in the field of mitral and aortic valve repair procedures with Prof. J-L Vanoverschelde and Prof. G. El Khoury .
He completed his cardiology residency in Brussels and at the University of Liège Belgium where he did a dedicated fellowship in stress-echocardiography with Prof. L. Pierard.
He is author and co-author of several seminal papers on quantitation of mitral regurgitation during exercise.
Since 2000, he is a major actor in the field of valvular heart diseases in Luxembourg.
In 2005, he obtained the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) certification .
Since 2010 , he is involved in cardiology teaching at the Luxembourg University.
He was the head of the cardiology unit in the Zitha Clinic in Luxembourg from 2005 to 2016.
Since 2012 , he is notably involved in the TAVI program , the Mitraclip/TMVR programs and the LAA occluder program in Luxembourg.
He is a founding pillar and the head of the Valve Clinic in Luxembourg since 2014.
He became Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2014 (FESC).
In 2022, he started the Triclip program in Luxembourg.
He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), of European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), and member of the Luxembourg Society of Cardiology.
