PAIN THERAPY
To achieve a lasting change with chronic conditions, we need to work both on the cognitive level as well as on the level of the body.
Studies show that 90% of chronic pain cases are partially or fully of neuroplastic origin (i.e. caused by the brain misinterpreting safe messages from the body as if they were dangerous and creating the symptom). The most common examples of such pain are:
- low back pain
- neck pain
- whiplash
- fibromyalgia
- tension headaches
- migraine headaches
- TMJ syndrome
- irritable bowel syndrome
- bladder pain syndrome (interstitial cystitis)
- chronic anxiety
- other syndromes that may be caused by stress, emotions related to traumatic events, or reactions to these emotions
Within the pain therapy process, we use a range of techniques and tools that involve understanding of the nature of pain, working with the unexpressed and stored emotions, and somatic bodywork (Feldenkrais Method and other techniques).
Somatic bodywork has proven to be a valuable addition where traditional talk therapy (that mainly involves intellectual processes) does not seem to help. Working with the body in a gentle and respectful way allows us to access the nervous system directly and open the pathways for a sustainable change, bypassing cognitive blockages. It helps untangle the body patterns of stress and anxiety, that make you subconsciously reproduce and reinforce the symptom, and brings you to a neurologically balanced state.
Pain therapy places a special accent on creating and working within a highly tailored and safe space for a deep and lasting change.
This work is based on my personal journey of overcoming chronic pain issues and comprises my knowledge and experience in pain therapy, a range of somatic education techniques (including Feldenkrais Method) and other bodywork principles (classic massage, Yoga, Taiji and QiGong), as well as my research background in natural sciences.
FELDENKRAIS
If you do not have pain or other chronic symptoms, but you would love to work on improving one of the following areas of your life, we can work within the somatic education area only. The topics we can work on:
- stress-, injury- or neurology-related tension and movement limitations that decrease your quality of life
- balance issues
- improving your posture and movement habits
- improving performance (for sportsmen, musicians, dancer, actors, etc.)
- reducing anxiety and emotional stress (reestablishing neurological balance)
- rebuilding trust and confidence in your body (be that after a long time of physical illness or psychological unease)
- reestablishing a strong foundation for dealing with burnout or sleep problems (by bringing a sense of calm and feeling grounded in your own body on a neurological level).
To complement the individual work or get a first taste of the Feldenkrais approach, you can also join my weekly group Feldenkrais class in Gonderange, Luxembourg. See the details on my website.

Pain therapy and somatic bodywork are complementary to medical and/or psychological support, and prior advice from your doctor is highly recommended. You must consult with your doctors to make sure that your condition does not require immediate intervention. I reserve the right to refer you to a healthcare professional if I consider that medical intervention is required.
Managing and reducing your symptoms with pain therapy and somatic bodywork does not relieve you of the need to pursue all diagnostic research with a medical health professional.
